Game 73 - Monsters of Chaos - 2013/06/20

Wardancer showed many times that he is all for unorthodox armies but you would be surprised to think that they lack the punch. Just the contrary! For this game I had only one request. To meet 9.5 minimum score for Swedish Comp as it is used in the tournament I would like to attend next month.

The theme of Monsters of Chaos was present in this topic before. Wardancer built his army on the foundations of the previous one but with some significant changes.

Game 72 - Wood Elves - 2013/06/17

Greetings!

A friend of mine asked me for a game as he had a very long break and has never played with 8th edition rules before. I was very happy to bring him back to the light and we set up a game in the local store. My friend brought his Wood Elves. I was very intrigued because somehow I didn't have many opportunities to play against Asrai. He brought a nice army with a little bit of everything, painted in the autumn colors. Which looked very nice on the battlefield indeed!

Game 71 - Vampire Counts - 2013/05/20

New Beginnings

I had a very nice opportunity to test my army under new rules against Vampire Counts led by my good friend Adam. Adam wanted a practice game before one-day tournament (which I sadly could not attend) and I was more than happy to be his sparring partner. He didn't make it an easy task for me either as he decided to use quite a tough army.

Game 70 - Dwarves - 2013/05/12

Battle 6 - Dwarves - Blood and Glory

It was not use to motivate myself to write the last battle report but things need to be done properly and here it is. I had a great pleasure to meet Adam, who is current ETC captain of the Australian Team but absolutely top bloke in the first place. I saw Adam's army a few times before but I have never had a chance to play against him. I also found myself supporting him during last years Masters (a tournament for best players in Oz, participants are allowed to play only based on invitation) as he had a very interesting Dwarven army. He also did great with!

We played a modified Blood and Glory scenario:
As per the rulebook with the following exceptions;
Change the text under GAME LENGTH to
"The Game ends at the end of the 6th game turn, even if an army has reached breaking point"

When calculating Victory Points, the following are worth an extra bonus 200VP (cumulative)
- your opponent reaches or is bellow 2 Fortitude of there Breaking point
- your opponent reaches or is bellow 1 Fortitude of there Breaking point
- your Opponents army has been Broken
- if you were the first person to Break your opponent

This time Adam had another Dwarven force which more or less looked like this:

Game 69 - Orcs & Goblins - 2013/05/05

Battle 5 - Battle for the Pass - Orcs & Goblins

In the game 5 I faced Garry and his greenskins. I had a pleasure to play against Garry at Wintercon some time ago, when he used his Ogres. Garry is a very good and calculating player so I knew I am up to a serious challenge. We even tried to set up a date for a friendly game before the tournament but due to my crazy schedule I was unable to find enough free time to do so. Fortunately, we were granted an opportunity during the tournament!

The scenario had a following modification:
3 Objective coins are placed on the horizontal centreline (24" from the board edge) they are place 18" away from one another. Before scouts and vanguard The Objectives coins scatter D6" (they stop 1" away from impassable terrain.) Each objective is worth 200pts if held at the end of the game. The closest unit within 3" holds the objective. If the distance is equal the unit with the most ranks, if they are equal the objective is contested.

As I have mentioned Garry brought his Orcs & Goblins this time. Here is his list as far as I remember it:

Orcs & Goblins - Army List

Game 68 - High Elves - 2013/04/30

Battle 4 - High Elves - Watchtower

Game 4 was the dreaded Watchtower scenario. However, there was a nice modification. Instead of automatic win, the player who controls the tower at the end of the game, received 400VP bonus. I think it is a good idea as it gives an incentive to actually fight for the tower but at the some time leaves a choice not to do so.

I thought I am going to fight against some Dark Elves but it seems that the player pulled off and I was about to have another civil war, this time against Dhugal and his High Elves.

High Elves - Army List

Prince, Bow of Seafarer

Game 67 - Warriors of Chaos - 2013/04/23

Game 3 - Warriors of Chaos - Meeting Engagement

One of the good things of attending tournaments is that in time you start having quite a group of people you have already played against and would like to have a re-match. It was indeed the case in game 3, when I faced Joel's Warriors of Chaos who have just received new goodies! I played against Joel's tough as nails warriors at CanCon and it was great to have an opportunity to play against their new version so soon. I really didn't know what to expect as the new lists are still tested and although some "must-have" choices seem to clear out then it is still matter of personal taste. Joel was kind enough to send me his army list with details so for a change all is there :)
